Day
1:
Arrival at Borgo Bernardini for a buffet lunch, a tour of the estate and
free time to settle in. An orientation and hands-on cooking class will
provede dinner for the evenint.
Day 2:
After breakfast, there will be a leisurely stroll around the ancient walls
of Lucca, 2 1/2 miles. A Cooking class on pasta and its sauces for lunch will
be followed by a guided tour of Pisa and its Leaning Tower. A hands-on cooking
lesson in the afternoon will provide dinner.
Day 3:
After breakfast, you will depart Borgo for a Chianti adventure, stopping off
at an enchanting market town as well as a renowned vineyard for wine-tasting.
A tasting menu of local Chianti produce for linch will be held at a local
restaurant. After lunch, you will visit a distillery that produces local grappas.
There will be an informal pizza supper with pizza making in the original pizza
oven in the cellars of Villa Bernardini.
Day 4:
After breakfast, you will tour a bustling market town to choose fresh produce
for dinner followed by a kitchen challenge where students and chefs work together
to prepare a buffet lunch with items found at the market. Afternoon is a free
time to relax and enjoy Borgo bernardini. A hands-on cooking class and the
preparation of a special wine-tasting dinner will be followed by an introduction
to the wines of Tuscany by the wine sommelier followed by dinner with wine
tastings to accompany each course.
Day 5:
After breakfast, you will go on a guided tour through Lucca followed by a
specially selected tasting menu for lunch at a renowned local restaurant and
free time to discover Lucca for yourself with great shopping along Via Filungo.
A hands-on cooking class will provide dinner.
Day 6:
Breakfast will be followed by a hands-on cooking class and preparation
of lunch. The afternoon is free to relax at Borgo or join in a special
chocolate & truffle making session with Valter in the kitchen. There
is also the opportunity to do some last minute shopping in Lucca. Following
the hands-on cooking lesson and preparation, there will be a celebration
dinner and Graduation Ceremony.
Day 7:
After breakfast there are transfers to your next onward destination.
