The Picturesque Rhine

    Airport Transfers

  • Airport transfers are included when the tour operator issues the tickets. For land-only passengers, airport transfers can be arranged on the regular tour arrival and departure dates for a fee of $35 one way per person. Flight details are required

    Tour Itinerary

    Cruise from Amsterdam to Strasbourg with two nights in Munich

    Day 1 (Sat.) Board your overnight flight to Amsterdam.

    Day 2 Arrive Amsterdam, Holland. (Sun.) Arrive in Amsterdam and transfer to your luxurious floating hotel. The balance of the day is at leisure; you could take a CANAL CRUISE before departing Amsterdam this evening. Tonight, meet your fellow travelers and the ships crew during the welcome reception. (D)

    Day 3 Cruising: Cologne, Germany. (Mon.) Morning finds you cruising on the legendary Rhine. Peaceful river meadows and idyllic villages appear along the river. Pass Duisburg, the worlds largest inland port. The mouth of the Ruhr is here, the lifeline of Germanys Ruhr District. Cruise through fashionable Dsseldorf before arriving in Cologne in the afternoon for a guided walking tour through the old part of the city and a visit to the fabled CATHEDRAL Depart at midnight.     Day Cruising: Cochem. (Tue.) This mornings scenery takes you up the Rhine past charming riverside villages. Then enter the intimate Moselle Valley and cruise past terraced vineyards and hilltop castles to Cochem. After lunch, visit this charming riverside town where the old city gates and walls still stand. There will be free time to explore the beautiful market square. After dinner, you are invited to learn about Moselle wines and taste some samples at a very special wine evening. (FB,L,D)

    Day 5 Cruising: Moselle Valley-Trier. (Wed.) Today enjoy stunning views as you cruise through the fascinating Moselle Valley to Trier, Germanys oldest city. In the afternoon, tour this charming city with its Roman monuments, imperial baths, Porta Nigra gate and amphitheater. After dinner, there will be time to explore and perhaps taste the famous Moselle wine. (FB,L,D)

    Day 6 Cruising: Moselle Valley-Bernkastel-Zell. (Thu.) Morning arrival in the charming village of Bernkastel. Located in the middle of the Moselle wine producing region that stretches from the French border to the Rhine, Bernkastel boasts over 500 years of documented wine history. After a short walk through the old town center with its many medieval and Renaissance buildings, tour the MOSELLE WINE MUSEUM to experience some of this history. Lunchtime offers a scenic and leisurely cruise down the winding Moselle River to Zell for your overnight stop. Enjoy an afternoon stroll through Zell. A wine reception is prepared for tonight.     Day 7 Cruising: Moselle Valley-Koblenz-Rdesheim. (Fri.) Say farewell to the Moselle Valley as you sail to Koblenz at the confluence of the Moselle and Rhine Rivers and take a walking tour of this historic hub of trade. This afternoon, relax on deck and see the most beautiful and famous part of the Rhine. View castle after castle, and the infamous Lorelei Rock. Todays scenic cruise ends in the little wine village of Rdesheim. Tour the town and take a mini train to visit SIEGFRIEDS MECHANICAL MUSICAL INSTRUMENT MUSEUM. Return to the ship via the Drosselgasse, a narrow alley lined with wine taverns and restaurants. After dinner, you might want to return to sample the local vintage. (FB,L,D)

    Day 8 Cruising: Worms-Heidelberg-Strasbourg, France. (Sat.) Your early morning cruise continues south to the city of Worms. After breakfast, depart for a guided excursion to Heidelberg, the oldest university town in Germany, and famous for its romantic scenery. Rejoin the ship in Speyer and continue your afternoon cruising the Upper Rhine River. Relax on the sun deck, read a book, play cards with newfound friends or just enjoy the passing scenery. Late this evening arrive in Strasbourg. (FB,L,D)

    Day 9 Strasbourg-Munich, Germany. (Sun.) After breakfast, disembark and enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Strasbourg. Free time before your motorcoach departs for Munich. (FB)

    Day 10 Munich.(Mon.) Morning sightseeing includes Nymphenburg Palace, Frauenkirche, Marienplatz with the Old and New Town Hall, and many other sights. Afternoon and evening are at your leisure. You may want to sample hearty Bavarian dishes in one of the many typical Bavarian restaurants. (BB)

    Day 11 (Tue.) Your vacation comes to an end as you transfer to the airport for the flight home. (BB)

    A deposit of $400 per person is required to reserve space.
    Final payment is due 95 days prior to commencement of services.
    If cancellation is received by the tour operator more than 95 days prior to commencement of services, your deposit will be retained. The following per person cancellation fees apply:
    121 or more days prior to commencement of services: $100 per person; 120-95 days prior: 10% of total price; 94-60 days prior: 35% of total price; 59-30 days prior: 50% of total price; 29 or less days prior: 100% of total price.
    We recommend an all-inclusive travel protection plan for $99 per person.
