DAY 1 – FRI – DEPART USA

Overnight flight to Rome.

DAY 2 – SAT – ROME AT LEISURE

There are complimentary transfers to your hotel (see right). Later, enjoy a Welcome Drink with your Tour Director. Hotel: Mercure Delta Colosseum.

DAY 3 – SUN – ROME – TUSCANY

We drive to Perugia where we see the Cathedral, Priors' Palace, Great Fountain, Piazza 4 Novembre and Collegio del Cambio. Now on through Tuscan olive groves to our hotel in Montecatini. Hotel: Francia & Quirinale. (BB,D)

DAY 4 – MON – FLORENCE EXCURSION

In Florence we walk with a local guide to the 'Gates of Paradise' and Cathedral. Next stop is the open air gallery of Signoria Square before a visit to Santa Croce where Galileo and Michelangelo are buried. After a demonstration of leatherwork, there is time to shop! (BB)

DAY 5 – TUE – TUSCANY – VENICE

We return to Florence this morning to see the 'Statue of David' in the Academy Gallery. Now we continue past Padua for a scenic drive along the famous Brenta Riviera. We soon reach magical Venice. Hotel: Le Boulevard. (BB,D)

DAY 6 – WED – VENICE SIGHTSEEING

We cruise by private launch to St Mark's Square this morning. We see the Doge's Palace, Bridge of Sighs, and the ornate St Mark's Basilica. We also visit one of the glass showrooms for a demonstration of traditional craftsmanship. Now a highlight romantic gondola ride takes us through the canals. Also, don't miss the chance to try a seafood lunch! (BB)

DAY 7 – THU – VENICE – ROME

Sadly we bid farewell to the unique city of Venice and make our way back to Rome. Tonight, why not dine to your favourite Italian songs? Hotel: Mercure Delta Colosseum. (BB)

DAY 8 – FRI – ROME

With our expert guide, we visit the superb Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, then we visit St Peter's Basilica to see Michelangelo's 'Pieta', as well as the dome completed after his death. Now we cross the Tiber to visit the Colosseum and see the Forum. Tonight, we throw a coin into the Trevi Fountain and enjoy a highlight dinner of pasta, wine and music. (HD,BB)

DAY 9 – SAT – RETURN USA

You are transferred to the airport for your homeward flight. (BB)
