Day 1:

Reggello Meet at our four-star hotel, a 15th c restored villa. Take a warm-up ride through this village set in the foothills of the Pratomagno to Figline, an ancient market town.

Day 2:
Loro Ciuffena Ride the panoramic Sette Ponti (Roman Road of Seven Bridges) and zigzag though medieval villages including Cascia, where Massaccio’s first masterpiece is housed in a massive Romanesque church.

Day 3:
Siena Pass castles and fortresses, remnants of the battles between the Sienese and the Florentines, on the way through the famous wine towns of Radda in Chianti, and Gaiole, where the original wine recipe for Chianti was written.

Day 4:
In Siena, wander the maze of cobbled streets with our Sienese guide Nicoletta, to explore glowing medieval paintings, unique neighborhoods and the national wine library.

Day 5:
Volterra Pedal though the winding countryside to this magical 6th c Etruscan town with breathtaking views.

Day 6:
San Gimignano Take the day off to see Volterra’s amphitheater and Etruscan museum or ride to lively San Gimignano to see the 14 medieval towers that make it the "Manhattan of Tuscany."

Day 7:
Elba A 15-mile descent awaits as we glide towards Cecina, and hop a one-hour ferry to our island paradise. Mountains rise out of the sea, and olive groves and cacti nestle in the one hundred miles of white sand beach on this spectacular island, which was chosen by Napoleon for his exile. Our stay at the charming four-star Villa Ottone sets the mood for your island escape.

Day 8:
Cycle along an unspoiled coastal road around the northwestern point to Marciana. Stop at the best paninoteca in Tuscany and indulge in fresh eggplant sandwiches. Soar to Elba’s highest point with an optional chairlift ride to the top of Monte Capanne to capture a view of Corsica and the entire Tuscan archipelago.

Day 9:
Transfer to Portoferraio to catch hourly ferries to Piombino.
