Day 1:

Day 1 Thursday October 3, 2002 Canada/ Vienna Leave Canada today via Austrian Airlines OS3078 for your overnight flight to Vienna

Day 2:
Day 2 Friday October 4 Vienna/Split Arrive Vienna this morning to connect with the flight OS747 to Split. Transfer to the newly renovated Park Hotel (a four star hotel but with the elegance of a bygone era) for overnight accommodation. The rest of the day at leisure to walk and enjoy this very ancient city. Dinner at the hotel. (D)

Day 3:
Day 3 Saturday October 5 Cavtat After breakfast, drive to Cavtat, the jewel of the Dubrovnik Riviera where you will stay at the first class Albatross Hotel, on the beach, for the next 4 nights. On the way to your hotel, you will stop at Makarska and Stone. Makarska is a very picturesque sea-side town dating from the Illyrian times. The Romans used this sea-side area to build the first estate homes in history. (B,D)

Day 4 Sunday October 6 Cavtat A free day to explore on your own. (B,D)

Day 5:
Day 5 Monday October 7 Cavtat Today take a 4 hour walking tour of the resort city, visiting the Mauzoley Museum of the Family Racic, housed in the residence of the Family Racic and the Museum of Vlaho Bukovica. Afternoon at leisure. (B,D)

Day 6:
Day 6 Tuesday October 8 Monte Negro Full day excursion to Monte Negro, which is a part of Yugoslavia. During this excursion, you will be able to view the Boka Kotorska fjord and visit the old town of Budva including lunch. (B,L,D)

Day 7:
Day 7 Wednesday October 9 Dubrovnik After breakfast, transfer to Dubrovnik and board the M/S Monet. Dubrovnik is a breathtaking sight, entirely surrounded by massive walls of stone interspersed with four gates, three forts, five bastions and 14 square towers. Today’s tour begins with an excursion to the village of Cilipi where the local villagers present a variety of folkloric performances of singing, music and dance. Return to the ship in time for lunch and in the afternoon, a Dubrovnik City Tour will explore the historic and cultural sights.(B,L,D)

Day 8:

Day 8 Thursday October 10 Korcula Early this morning we are sailing to Korcula. Our walking tour of Korcula Town takes us through the Old Town, surrounded by its ancient defensive walls and birth place of Marco Polo. (B,L,D)

Day 9:
Day 9 Friday October 11 Hvar Arrive in Hvar, the longest island in the Adriatic and known as the Croatian Madeira because of its lush vegetation and mild climate. Stroll along the waterfront promenade and view the Medieval and Renaissance buildings in town. (B,L,D)

Day 10:
Day 10 Saturday October 12 Split and Zadar This morning the Monet arrives in Split, the second largest city in Croatia. Here we visit the huge Palace of Emperor Diocletian dating from the end of the third century and one of the last palaces of the Roman Empire. Early in the afternoon we depart from Split to Zadar. Day 11:
Day 11 Sunday October 13 Zadar and Opatija Sightseeing this morning in Zadar, we will stroll the narrow streets and enjoy the historic centre, its churches and palaces. Included in our tour are two churches, one dating from the 9th century and the other from Roman times. Later that evening we set sail to Opatija.(B,L,D)

Day 12:
Day 12 Monday October 14 Opatija and Venice A favourite of 18th century European royalty, Opatija is still one of the most popular resorts on the Adriatic. A fascinating excursion through the Slovenia countryside takes you to the Postojna Cave, the second largest cave system in the world. The tour continues to the little town of Lipica, where the famed Lipizzaner stallions have been bred for over 400 years. Set sail for Venice early this evening. (B,L,D)

Day 13:
Day 13 Tuesday October 15 Venice Arrive early this morning in Venice. We have a full day to explore this magnificent city of bridges and canals and its myriad treasures of art and architecture. A walk through Saint Mark’s Square provides a wealth of sights from the Doge’s Palace and the Bridge of Sights to the Campanile and St. Mark’s Cathedral. The afternoon is free to browse this world famous city with its shops, museums and palaces second to none. (B,L,D)

Day 14:
Day 14 Wednesday October 16 Venice/Vienna This morning, disembark in Venice after breakfast. Transfer to the airport for your flight OS5520 to Vienna. Overnight at the Airport Hotel. Dinner at hotel. (B,D)

Day 15:
Day 15 Thursday October 17 Vienna/Canada After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Toronto via Austrian Airlines OS3077.
