The Hungaria Palace is a
deluxe hotel located at the center of Lido Island and is a 25 minute ferry-boat
trip from Venice Tronchetto International Airport. The hotel was originally
built in 1905 and was enriched in 1914 by covering the entire facade with
polychromatic majolica tiles. This work, created before World War I by
Luigi Fabris, is an excellent example of the Venetian taste for facade
decoration. Both the exterior and interior of the hotel are excellent
examples of Art Nouveau decor and all of the hotel's furniture in the
bedrooms and lounge area is original to the period.
All of the guests rooms are bright and elegant, with an Art Nouveau charm
that harkens back to an earlier time. Combined with the old world charm
of its decor, the hotel offers all of the modern conveniences and amenities
that guests have come to expect. These rooms feature air conditioning,
satellite TV and private bathrooms. The hotel also offers an American
bar, an on-site restaurant and business/meeting facilities. The Hotel Hungaria Palace offers on-site dining and is convenient to many area shopping
and entertainment venues.
